On Easter Monday, I had promised dad I would take him to The Hive to see Barnet. It had been over a year since he has last been able to go and I was really looking forward to be able to go with him – after all, he was the one who introduced me to the club. Plus, it’s not the same going on your own! We also went with one of his friends, who kindly picked us up and dropped us home – his punishment: sitting in the home end with us, even though he’s a Luton fan!
I wore the same jeans and shoes I wrote about in my last outfit post, because they’re super comfy and they’re perfect for spring. I really struggle with footwear. I wear dolly shoes/pumps for work all year round, so when it’s time to go out, I never know when it’s right time for sandals. That Monday wasn’t one of those days, as it poured with rain on the way home. Anyone who follows me on Insta (LucyLocket_x, btw) will know I wanted to wear my Chi Chi heels... I’ll be wearing them in a fortnight!
The main reason I photographed this outfit and wanted to share it is this beautiful waterfall-style jacket from AX Paris (I bought it via New Look, link above!). It’s absolutely gorgeous and I immediately fell in love with it. The material is quite thick, even though once on, the jacket feels really light and the floating material keeps you cool. The back drapes over and it could actually be styled a number of ways. Once it gets warmer, I’ll team it up with a short-sleeved top too. When it rained, I practically had a hood – so it’s definitely a versatile piece!
My little black sequin clutch from Cherry Diva completed the look and totally complemented the whole monochrome thing I had going on – totally unintentional! It’s one of my favourite little bags, as it holds everything without being too bulky. Plus on the inside, it has this super cute leopard print lining. I often find with sequinned items, they fall off so easily... I’m yet to have this trouble and it was a total bargain, too.
What do you think of this outfit?
